What are the side effects of Virbantel?
Adverse effects are rare, but they can include diarrhea. In this scenario, make sure the dog is properly hydrated. If your dog exhibits serious adverse effects, it is most likely a reaction to parasites that are dead or dying. If you suspect this is the case, seek immediate veterinary help.
What special precautions are there?
During treatment, always monitor your dog closely. Follow your veterinarian's instructions closely. Do not administer for longer than your veterinarian prescribes. If you believe your pet might have worms, be sure to take him or her to the veterinarian. This product is only for the treatment of hookworms, roundworms, and tapeworms. It does not treat other parasites.

Overview
Give 1 daily chewable to dogs weighing 6 to 12 pounds. Give 2 daily chewables to dogs weighing 12.1 to 25 pounds. Administer 114 mg chewables to dogs over 25 pounds. The entire course of treatment should always be completed.
