Start a month before the fleas appear. Before initiating therapy with a heartworm preventive medication, your pet should receive a heartworm test. This medicine comes with calendar reminder stickers. Depending on your area, you can use this product all year, or you may opt to treat your pet only during mosquito season. If you're giving it seasonally, give the first dosage 30 days after your pet's first mosquito exposure and the last dose 30 days after the last exposure. Administer every month on the same day each month to avoid heartworm infection. If you miss giving a dose and it's been over 30 days since you last gave the medication, give it right away and get back on track with treatment. Apply as a single topical dose to treat ear mites. In certain situations, a monthly dose may be required. Ear mites can be controlled with a monthly application. To eliminate debris from contaminated ears, clean them. Apply monthly to keep ticks at bay. If the infestation is severe, a single dose may not be enough to achieve total effectiveness. If this is the case, a second dose can be given as soon as two weeks after the first. After that, start dosing on a monthly basis. Apply as a single topically administered dose to treat sarcoptic mange. In certain situations, a monthly dose may be required. All further infestations of sarcoptic mange mites will be controlled with a monthly application.
