What are the side effects of Trifexis Chewable Tablets for Dogs?
In clinical trials, the most common adverse reactions included: Vomiting Diarrhea Lethargy Pruritus (skin itch) If your dog vomits within an hour of taking this medication, you may safely administer another dose. Puppies under 14 weeks old are more prone to vomiting than dogs or older puppies.
What special precautions are there?
Exercise caution when administering to epileptic dogs. Get your dog tested for heartworms prior to treatment. Not confirmed safe for administration to breeding dogs.

Verify that your dog takes three monthly doses following the last mosquito encounter for total heartworm prevention. During therapy with this medicine, dogs do not need to be separated from other pets.

If you're using this medicine for heartworm prevention, make sure you use it throughout mosquito season and for 3 months afterward. If you have any issues regarding missing doses or suggested dosages, talk to your veterinarian. If you're not using this product all year, wait at least 3 months after the last mosquito bite before giving the final treatment.
