What are the side effects of Selarid (selamectin) Topical for Dogs?
Like most drugs, Selarid carries a risk of side effects. The most common side effect is hair loss at the application site, which may or may not accompany inflammation (including redness and flaking. Overview
1) Using scissors, cut the tube from the packaging. 2) Hold the applicator upright and lightly touch the top to ensure there is no product in the tip. 3) Use a twisting motion or scissors to open the tip. 4) Part your pet's hair at the base of the neck with the other hand. 5) Touch the applicator tip to the skin once it is visible. 6) Empty the whole tube into a single location. 7) Before releasing the animal, check to see if the product is dried. 8) To discard, take precautions such as wrapping it in paper and tossing it in the regular garbage. 9) Repeat every 30 days. Normal doses are 2.7 mg per pound of weight.
