Premature labor, regular parturition, postpartum uterine debris evacuation, postoperative uterine contraction after C-section, and uterine hemorrhages are all treated with this medicine. Its versatility means it may be used to promote milk let-down in cows and pigs by contracting smooth muscle cells in the mammary gland. These activities have also been found to help prevent the onset of metritis.

What are the side effects of Oxytocin, 100 ml?
With a veterinarian's prescription, oxytocin is deemed safe and effective. However, negative effects are still feasible. Oxytocin, if taken inappropriately, can induce uterine rupture or pain due to severe uterine cramping. If the animal has uncorrected low blood sugar or untreated low blood calcium, don't use this product. Only use after you confirm that the cervix is dilated. If the fetus is in an odd position or is too big to pass through the birth canal, do not use this product. Other medications may interact with this medicine. To prepare for or rule out potential interactions, tell your veterinarian about all other drugs your pet is receiving. Do not give to animals that have a history of hypersensitivity or medication allergies.
What special precautions are there?
If not used as directed on the label, this product may induce severe cramping or uterine rupture. Never provide medication to an animal with untreated low blood sugar or low blood calcium. Do not use this product if the cervix has not been dilated, the fetus is not in a normal position, or the fetus will not readily pass through the birth canal. Before using, notify your veterinarian about any vitamins or drugs your pet is taking. Medication combinations can be dangerous. Never provide medication to a hypersensitive animal. Keep out of the reach of animals and children.
What to do if overdose?
If overdose occurs, please contact your local pet hospital or emergency pet clinic immediately.
