What are the side effects of OvaMed (Altrenogest), 1000 ml?
When administered at recommended doses, side effects are unlikely. This medication can cause mild changes in blood levels of liver enzymes, potassium, and calcium. It can worsen uterine infections in mares with existing uterine inflammation. Any medication can cause an anaphylactic or allergic reaction. Affected animals may experience agitation, respiratory changes, hives, and swelling. Allergic reactions can be serious and life-threatening. They require emergency veterinary treatment. Notify your veterinarian right away if your horse shows any signs of an adverse reaction.
What special precautions are there?
If you have a tumor, do not handle or use this product. This includes tumors that developed while using any product that contains estrogen, like birth control pills. If you are a woman with unexplained vaginal bleeding, do not use this product. If you think you might have cancer in the breast, ovaries, or uterus, do not use this product. Do not use this product if you have heart disease or stroke. Women who are pregnant should also not use this product. Be careful when handling the product - it can easily be absorbed through skin that is not broken. Do not use this product if you are pregnant. Do not give this product to a horse that you will eat. Wear gloves when you touch the product. If you are a woman who can have children, be very careful when handling this product. It can absorb through your skin and it might cause problems with your menstrual cycle or cause you to be pregnant for a longer time. When you spill the product on your skin, wash it off with soap right away. Do not use this product if the horse has inflammation in the uterus. Some patients who take therapy with synthetic or natural gestagen may see their low-grade inflammation of the uterus worsen into a more serious infection. Additionally, administration of this therapy to rats during pregnancy in the embryonic stages at multiple times the recommended doses resulted in female genitalia masculinization.

How can I store OvaMed (Altrenogest), 1000 ml?
Store at or below 75°F (25°C).
Overview
Put on a pair of protective gloves. Remove the seal and shipping cap. Replace the cap with the included plastic dispensing cap. Remove the cover from the dispensing tip, then connect a luer lock syringe without needle. Draw out the proper volume of OvaMed Solution. Never remove the syringe when the bottle is inverted. Spillage can result. Detach the syringe, then orally administer 1mL for every 110 pounds of body weight daily for 15 days in a row. Administer over the grain ration or directly at the base of the tongue of the mare. Replace the cover on the dispensing tip to prevent leaks. Replace the syringe as needed (excessive syringe use can cause sticking). Pregnant women and women who suspect that they might be pregnant should not handle this drug. Remove the bottle and unit from the package. Take the cap off of the bottle, then screw the bottle into the diffuser at the bottom. Plug the diffuser in. Make sure the outlet is functioning correctly and that it is 120 volts. Replace the bottle after 60 days. Replace the entire diffuser unit every 6 months. A single bottle of Feliway MultiCat or Feliway provides about 60 days of coverage for a 500-to 700-square-foot area.
