Helpful Tips:
This is an intramuscular injection that is typically given at 1.8 mg per kilo. You should give the injection into 3 different areas. After the injection, you should throw away any unused content. The single-use vial doesn't have preservatives, so you should throw it away after you open it. If the horse doesn't get better right away, you should seek a reevaluation. There might be times when a horse gets better for a while and then gets worse again after 6 months.
Overview
OSPHOS should be re-administered once clinical symptoms reappear in horses that react to OSPHOS and maintain clinical recovery for 6 months. OSPHOS may be re-administered at 3 to 6 month intervals based on return of clinical symptoms in horses that first react to OSPHOS but do not sustain their clinical improvement for 6 months. If the horse does not respond to the initial therapy, it should be assessed again. OSPHOS is packaged in a single-use vial and is free of preservatives. Discard any remaining vial contents. OSPHOS is given intramuscularly at a rate of 1.8 mg/kg up to a maximum dosage of 900 mg per horse (one vial). Divide the whole volume into three injection sites equally.
