NAXCEL Sterile Powder includes the ceftiofur sodium salt, a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the cephalosporin class. It is effective against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, including those that produce ß-lactamase. Ceftiofur, like other cephalosporin antibiotics, demonstrates bactericidal properties in vitro, blocking cell wall formation. It does not contain any sterile water.

How can I store NAXCEL?
Reconstituted product should be stored at 36° to 46° Fahrenheit (2° to 8° Celsius) for up to 7 days or at 68° to 77° Fahrenheit (20° to 25° Celsius) for up to 12 hours at regulated room temperature. The hue of the cake can range from off-white to tan. The potency of the product is unaffected by its color. Keep this product away from light sources. Heat and moisture should be avoided. Unreconstituted product should be stored at 68° to 77° Fahrenheit (20° to 25° Celsius).
Helpful Tips:
NAXCEL is different from other antibiotic medications in that it guarantees no milk waste. Alternative treatments might result in unfavorable side effects and lost milk.
Overview
CATTLE: Inject 0.5mg to 1mg per pound of body weight. Repeat for three consecutive days, every 24 hours. SWINE: Inject 1.36mg to 2.27mg per pound of body weight into the muscle. Repeat for three consecutive days, every 24 hours. SHEEP: Inject 0.5mg to 1mg per pound of body weight per pound of body weight. Repeat for three consecutive days, every 24 hours. After the initial three days, animals who do not respond well (are unrecovered) may be treated for a further two days. The dose will be determined by the severity of the ailment. GOATS: Inject a 0.5mg to 1mg intramuscular dosage per pound of body weight. Repeat for three consecutive days, every 24 hours. Because the drug is eliminated more quickly in nursing does, a greater dose is indicated for these animals. HORSES: Inject 1 to 2 mg per pound of body weight into the muscle.
