Overview
Whenever possible, kittens should be fed their mother's milk for a minimum of 2 days. Colostrum milk offers temporary immunity against certain illnesses, along with extra nutrition. Feed at body or room temperature. This liquid may be administered daily at a rate of 2 tablespoons for every 4 ounces of body weight. Divide the daily feeding rate into equal portions to administer at each feeding. The needs of each kitten will vary, and the amount might require increasing or decreasing based on the individual kitten. Weak or small kittens may require feeding every 3 to 4 hours. Larger kittens may only require feeding every 8 hours. Weigh kittens each day to ensure proper feeding.
