What are the side effects of Cyproheptadine HCl Tablet 4 mg?
High dosages of this product, like any other antihistamine, might have anticholinergic effects. Elevated body temperature, increased heart rate, dry mouth, increased ocular pressure in animals prone to glaucoma, and urinary retention are some of the side effects. Cats occasionally have "paradoxical" reactions that cause excitement. Drowsiness is a common adverse effect of this medicine.
What special precautions are there?
Severe reactions, such as excitability, seizures, lethargy, coma, increased heart rate, inability to urinate, or fever, could occur. If you notice any of these symptoms, pursue emergency treatment. Keep away from children.
