What special precautions are there?
Do not clean ears during or before treatment. Do not use concomitantly with other ear medications or cleansers. Do not allow water to come near or enter the ear during treatment. If your pet's condition worsens or persists, notify a veterinarian. Do not use in a punctured eardrum. Never administer to a lactating or pregnant female dog. Keep this and all drugs away from children.
What to do if overdose?
If overdose occurs, please contact your local pet hospital or emergency pet clinic immediately.
How can I store Zymox Otic?
Keep between 68 and 77 degrees Fahrenheit (20 and 25 degrees Celsius). Keep away from heat and moisture.
Helpful Tips:
This drug is an excellent choice for animals who are allergic to antibiotics, exotic animals, rodents, and pets that are tough or problematic.
Overview
To use on the skin: 1) Wet the coat with water. 2) Apply shampoo to the pet's whole body and work it into a lather. 3) Allow for a contact duration of 5 to 10 minutes. 4) Rinse well with water. 5) Repeat as necessary. For otic use: 1) Apply liberally to dirty ear canals. It's never a good idea to clean your ears first. This causes enzymatic activity to be disrupted. 2) Massage the product into the affected regions gently. 3) Wipe away any excess product. 4) For one week, treat once a day. Treat for two weeks in chronic instances. 5) Flush the ears after finishing the whole course of therapy to eliminate any remaining product and dead skin cells. Consult your veterinarian if the problem worsens or does not improve. During treatment, don't allow water to come near or enter the ear. Never use concomitantly with other topical ear medicines or ear cleansers. Long-term administration of this product is safe and effective. Try Zymox Otic without Hydrocortisone for prophylactic purposes. Use Zymox Otic with Hydrocortisone if your pet's ears are red or irritated.
