What are the side effects of VetriBute (Phenylbutazone) Bolus, 100 ct.?
Discontinue treatment if the horse experiences any signs of: Digestive upset Jaundice Blood dyscrasia In humans treated with this drug, agranulocytosis has occurred. In a low percentage of dogs treated with this drug, death has occurred. In the early stages of treatment, the animal should receive weekly blood counts. After the initial period, bi-weekly blood counts are recommended. Countermeasures and treatment discontinuation are in order if the animal experiences granulocyte decreases, black or tarry stools, or a significant total white count decrease.
What special precautions are there?
This product should not be given to an animal that is on other anti-inflammatory medications. When treating an inflammatory illness, use this medicine with specialized anti-infectives. Do not feed to animals intended for human consumption. Only administer to animals. Keep away from children.
What to do if overdose?
If overdose occurs, please contact your local pet hospital or emergency pet clinic immediately.
How can I store VetriBute (Phenylbutazone) Bolus, 100 ct.?
Store at a temperature between 59° and 86° Fahrenheit (15° and 30° Celsius). The container should be closed tightly after use.
Overview
Administer 1 or 2 oral boluses per 500 pounds of body weight daily until symptom improvement is noted. Do not administer greater than 4 grams daily.
