What are the side effects of VetPen Starter Kit?
The most common side effect of insulin use is hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). This can be a serious, potentially life-threatening condition. Signs of hypoglycemia include shaking, sweating, rapid heartbeat, or blurry vision. Other adverse reactions are also possible. These could include allergic reactions, injection site reactions, lipodystrophy, pruritus (itching), rash, edema (swelling), or weight gain.
What special precautions are there?
If the animal has a history of pork allergies, don't use this product. Never use if your pet is hypoglycemic. Keep an eye out for indications of hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia. Overdosing can cause death or hypoglycemia. There is no known safety when a dog or cat is breeding, pregnant, or nursing. Keep this product out of your eyes. If this product comes into touch with your eyes, flush them with fresh water for 15 minutes. An unintentional injection might result in clinical hypoglycemia. If an unintentional injection happens, seek medical attention immediately. When sensitized persons are exposed, a local or systemic response may develop. Keep out of the reach of animals and children.

If overdose occurs, please contact your local pet hospital or emergency pet clinic immediately.
How can I store VetPen Starter Kit?
Store at room temperature. Don't freeze. Refrigeration of Insulin cartridges of 36-46°F is recommended.
