During therapy, medicated water should be the sole source of drinking water. If the problem does not improve after the suggested therapy has been completed in any species, re-confirm organism susceptibility and the diagnosis. Mix the concentrated solution with water to make 50 gallons of purified drinking water for chickens. Depending on the severity of the infection, treat for 3 days (or 1 to 5 days). Treated birds must drink enough medicated water to get 50 milligrams per pound of body weight every day. No other water source should be offered.
