Otomax is a corticosteroid and antimicrobial ointment used to treat chronic and acute swimmer's ear (otitis externa) caused by gentamicin-susceptible bacteria or yeast.

What are the side effects of Otomax Ointment?
The most common adverse reactions are related to the ingredient gentamicin. Although it is not well-absorbed into the skin, this ingredient is known to cause irreversible or reversible kidney and eye toxicity when it is applied topically on wounds, denuded skin, or burns for excessive periods of time.
What special precautions are there?
Because Otomax may interact unfavorably with other products, always check with a veterinarian before using it and make a list of any other products and drugs your pet is on.
