No contraindications are associated with Hyvisc Injection (hyaluronate sodium) use. This and any other intra-articular injection carries a risk of mild inflammatory response (swelling, heat, and tenderness) in the joint(s) after injection. This effect has been shown to be self-limiting, but could last for 2 to 5 days post-treatment. In case of severe or excessive inflammation, consult your veterinarian.

How can I store Hyvisc (Hyaluronate Sodium) Injection 11mg/ml, 2 ml?
Store between 36°-46°F (2°-8°C). Keep refrigerated, do not freeze. Avoid heat.
Overview
Always consult a veterinarian before use. To use, administer using aseptic methods 2 mL intra-articularly in small or medium joints and 4 mL intra-articularly in large joints. For any size joint, before injection monitor joints routinely, this will help in pinpointing the specific issue. To ensure no fractures or serious-abnormalities are present, use a radiograph or other diagnostic technique. When the joint issue is pinpointed, remove the synovial fluid aseptically. Then, take the syringe and remove the cap and with a sterile 20 gauge needle inject 2 mL or 4 mL. Depending on the dose, one or two syringes will be needed. Please note that the viscosity of this fluid can dislodge the needle, care should be taken during inject to make sure this does not happen. After injection, allow 2 or 4 days of light exercise or rest before normal activity. Within 2 weeks improvement in joint function should be seen.
