Cefpodoxime Proxetil is a topical antibiotic that is used for the treatment of skin infections. In cats, it can be used to treat soft tissue and skin infections. In dogs, it can be used to treat respiratory and bladder infections.

Cefpodoxime Proxetil for dogs is used to treat skin infections, abscesses, and wounds. Proteus mirabilis, Pasteurella multocida, Escherichia coli, group G), Streptococcus canis (ß hemolytic, Staphylococcus aureus, and Staphylococcus intermedius are among the sensitive bacterial strains.

What are the side effects of Cefpoderm (Cefpodoxime Proxetil) Tablet?
Antimicrobials such as cephalosporins, penicillins, and other antibiotics might induce allergic responses in certain animals. Prevent direct pharmaceutical contact with the mucous membranes or skin to reduce the risk of an adverse response.
What special precautions are there?
Positive direct Coombs' tests may occur when taking this medication. Do not administer to lactating, breeding, or pregnant dogs.
What to do if overdose?
Contact the closest emergency animal clinic. Overdose Syptoms include: Increased thirst, hunger, urination, hyperactive, personality change, or reduced heat tolerance.
How can I store Cefpoderm (Cefpodoxime Proxetil) Tablet?
Temperatures should be kept between 68 and 77 degrees Fahrenheit (room temperature). Heat and moisture should be avoided.
Overview
Ensure that you have access to fresh, clean drinking water at all times. Even if your pet looks to be in full recovery, you should continue to give until the therapy is finished. The treatment time is limited to 28 days. 2.3mg to 4.5mg per pound of body weight once day for 5 to 7 days, or 2 to 3 days after clinical indications have vanished, is the typical suggested dosage for dogs. Follow your veterinarian's instructions to the letter. This antibiotic is taken by mouth.
