What are the side effects of Polyflex (ampicillin for injectable suspension 25 g) for Cattle?
Because it is a derivative of 6-aminopenicillanic acid, POLYFLEX has the potential for producing allergic reactions. If they should occur, POLYFLEX should be discontinued and the subject treated with antihistamines, pressor amines and corticosteroids, as needed.
What special precautions are there?
Do not treat cattle for more than 7 days. Milk from treated cows must not be used for food during treatment, and for 48 hours (4 milkings) after the last treatment. Cattle must not be slaughtered for food during treatment, and for 144 hours (6 days) after the last treatment. Federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian. Do not use to treat animals with a history of allergic reactions to penicillin, cephalosporins or their analogues.

How can I store Polyflex (ampicillin for injectable suspension 25 g) for Cattle?
Store at or below 77°F (25°C), with excursions permitted up to 86ºF (30ºC). After reconstitution, store under refrigeration. Use within 3 months of first puncture. Avoid freezing.

Overview
Dosage Instructions/Directions: Transfer 79 mL of sterile water into the bottle of POLYFLEX sterile ampicillin powder. Thoroughly mix to rehydrate the ampicillin powder. Give an intramuscular injection in the neck at 2 mL per 100 pounds of body weight. Per BQA recommendations, do not inject more than 10 mL per site. Treat once daily, continuing treatment for 48 to 72 hours after the animal becomes asymptomatic. Three-day treatment is common. Do not treat for more than 7 days.
