Product Description
Centragard for Cats treats and controls roundworms, hookworms, tapeworms, and heartworms caused by Dirofilaria immitis. The once-monthly topical medication targets both larvae and adults, depending on the problem.
Who is Centragard for Cats for?
Cats and kittens must be 7 weeks old or more and weigh a minimum of 1.8lbs
Why use Centragard for Cats?
Centragard for Cats is a monthly spot treatment for roundworms, hookworms, and tapeworms, and it is also a heartworm preventative.
How does Centragard for Cats work?
By combining the two important components praziquantel and eprinomectin, this topical therapy causes parasite paralysis and death. When the component praziquantel is administered to the body, it produces tapeworm paralysis and a fast calcium ion influx, although its full potential is unknown. When eprinomectin is injected into the body, it binds to parasite glutamate-gated chloride channels, increasing cell membrane permeability and causing cell hyperpolarization paralysis. The ensuing paralysis prevents the parasite from growing or reproducing, allowing the body to destroy it.

What are the side effects of Centragard for Cats?
When used correctly, the possibilities of developing adverse effects are reduced. Some cats developed transitory neurological abnormalities such as pupil dilatation, lethargy, confusion, or ataxia, according to safety studies. Excessive salivation was frequently noted in clinical studies in cats that licked their application site following treatment. Lethargy, vomiting, and/or hypersalivation can all be symptoms of oral ingestion. Rare application site responses have been recorded after therapy. Hair loss, itching, and transient spiking or clumping of the coat are examples of moderate, short-term responses.
What special precautions are there?
Not for use in humans. After administering, cease all application site contact for 5 hours. Hands should be thoroughly washed after handling this product. If your eyes come into touch with the product, rinse with water. If skin or eye irritation occurs, or if consumed, get medical attention right away. Not to be taken orally. If licked or mistakenly consumed, this therapy may cause excessive salivation or vomiting.
