How does Advantage Carpet and Upholstery Spot Spray, 16 oz work?
Advantage Carpet and Upholstery Spot Spray kills insects by ingesting or coming into close contact with the active component d-Phenothrin. The peripheral and central nerve systems of the insect are affected by this type I pyrethroid. Because of the prolonged activation of voltage-gated sodium channels, insects endure recurrent neuronal excitation and discharge after exposure. It also contains imidacloprid, a substance that inhibits the parasite's neurons from delivering normal impulses and disrupting the nervous system's normal function. The component binds to the receptors on the nerve cells of the insect.
